Sachin would not break rules: Uddhav

Mumbai, Sept 29: Reacting to the controversy over Sachin Tendulkar facing a possible penalty for moving into his new house without getting occupation certificate (OC), Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray today said he did not believe that the master batsman would ever break rules.

"I do not think Sachin would do this. We have seen that (during matches) sometimes even when he is not given out, he leaves the ground, I don't think he would do such a thing."

"He follows the rules strictly," Uddhav said.

Sachin moved into his new bungalow on Perry Cross Road in suburban Bandra yesterday, but officials of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said he would have to face penalty for not having OC.

BMC Mayor Shraddha Jadhav, who belongs to Shiv Sena, even said that there could not be exceptions to the rule.

Sena-BJP alliance is in power in the BMC.
