Ind vs WI Live: Sehwag breaks Sachin's record of 200 in ODIs

India openers Virender Sehwag and Ravindra Jadeja are at the crease against West Indies during the fourth ODI of the five-match series at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Thursday. Score

Earlier, India captain Virender Sehwag won the toss and elected to bat keeping in the mind the dew factor. India are leading the series 2-1 and a win here would seal the series for India while West Indies, who won the last ODI in Motera with 16 runs, would be looking for a equaliser.

The two openers, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, got off to a rather quick start scoring at more than seven runs an over. A good strategy keeping in mind the dew factor, which will definitely make things difficult for the Windies in the second half.

In 10 over India had amassed 63 runs at an average of 6.30 runs per over. And five over later the India score had swelled to 108 for no loss.

Soon captain Sehwag was way past his 100, hitting a four to reach the mark that came offf just 71 balls and included 10 fours and 5 sixers. However, no sooner had the captain reached the mark his opening wicket partner Gambhir (67) ended up getting run out in Kieron Pollard's over that culminated their 176 run stand in the 23rd over.

Post that Sehwag and Suresh Raina went on charge and soon India's total was way past the 200-run mark even as the two batsmen were gearing up for a big total on board.
In the 40th over, India score swelled past the 300-run mark and with that score no board, India had already bagged the match. Meanwhile, Sehwag and Raina, who had scored his half ton were still in the middle.

However in the 41st over Suresh Raina ended up getting run out on 55, but Sehwag was still in the middle and was looking all set to break Sachin's record of the only male cricketer to have scored a double ton in ODIs. Sachin had scored 200 not out against South Africa in Gwalior in February 2010.

In the 44th over Sehwag lost another partner in Jadeja, who fell cheeply.
