Is ‘Heroine’ why Kareena Kapoor’s wedding is being delayed?

Buzz is that the fear of losing her box office standing post-marriage is the real reason why Bebo has been delaying her wedding to long-time boyfriend Saif Ali Khan Speculation about the much-awaited Kareena Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan wedding has been on for a long time now.

Kareena too has been keen on walking down the aisle for a while, or so she has said. Early 2012, was what the actor had been looking at. Yet, the wedding has been constantly getting delayed. While earlier Saif’s ambitious production Agent Vinod was being touted as the reason for the postponement, now yet another film project has come in the way of the couple’s marital bliss…well, the legality of it, at least. Buzz is that the mid-year release of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine is what is causing all the problems.

Kareena has had a terrific last two years at the BO, with big hits like 3 Idiots, Golmaal Returns, Ra.One and Bodyguard to her credit. And the trade has been quite gung-ho about how this will work in favour of Heroine when it hits the screen. But the trade pundits are skeptical about Kareena suddenly turning into a married lady and they believe that she may not continue to be a crowd puller at the BO after that. Chances are that Heroine might end up a damp squib if it releases post her marriage.

The paranoia seems to have affected Bebo too, as she seems to have pushed her wedding date even further for the sake of the film. Well Kareena, we don’t expect this, at least not from you, especially considering the fact that your to-be mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore did some of her most memorable roles and films after she was married and a mother of two! Also, we wonder why the trade is still paranoid about married heroines. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kajol have proved repeatedly that marriage need not affect the BO standing of a Bollywood heroine! Guess, B-town has a lot more growing up to do. What do you think?
